I’m making a habit of catching photography documentaries it seems, following my post last week (Click Here).

On Saturday I caught by accident  the BB2 Culture Show program made about Rankin’s latest exhibition.

When I have seen similar in the past, I sometimes felt that it was more about a ‘PR’ exercise than anything else, subtle, but all about promotion of a photographer, more than the idea behind the pictures.

This though I thought was poignant, touching and nicely portrayed, covering the inevitable and most difficult of subjects.

Well done Rankin and those who kindly shared their personal stories, and the BBC for the ‘Culture Show’ program.

The exhibition is called Alive: In the Face of Death.

It is on show in Liverpool until September (Click Here).

The program can still be viewed on BBC iPlayer.

End.
