Many avid photographers will definitely prefer this 35mm lens to the more conventional 50mm. Using a leading-edge design and state-of-the-art production technology, we’ve honed its performance to the point where it can do full justice to the expressive power of the very latest digital cameras. At low apertures, for example, it can perform like a wide-angle lens, while if it’ s opened up to F1.4, it will give the background a pleasing bokeh effect and make the subject pop like a mid-range telephoto lens. What makes this lens so desirable is the wide scope it provides for artistic expression.

1.Large maximum aperture of F1.4
This lens has uncompromising high optical performance. 1 FLD (“F” Low Dispersion) glass lens and four SLD (Super Low Dispersion) glass lenses ensure exceptional correction of axial chromatic aber-ration and lateral chromatic aberration.

2.Flare and ghosting conscious design
From an early stage, flare and ghosting are thoroughly measured to establish the design which is resistant to strong incident light such as backlight. Sigma’ s Super Multi-Layer Coating reduces flare and ghosting, and provides high contrast images even in backlit conditions.

3.Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) is incorporated
The lens incorporates HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) ensuring high speed and quiet AF as well as full-time manual focus override by rotation of the focus ring.

4.Rounded diaphragm
The rounded 9 blade diaphragm creates an attractive blur to the out of focus areas.

5.Brass made bayonet mount
This lens incorporates a brass made bayonet mount which has both high accuracy and durability. The special treatment to reinforce its strength is applied to the surface to make it a high quality lens that will easily withstand long-term use.
