Hedler may not be a lighting brand familiar too many. But they have a good reputation, and I have been impressed with their product concepts over the years.

But what should bring them to the attention of a wider audience, is an increasing range of products available with in the UK.
These include the new ‘FlashOwl’ for users of portable (Speedlight) type flash.

The full range of Hedler reflectors, softboxes and barndoors can now be used on portable flash units and speedlites!

The versatile Hedler “FlashOwl” is of robust metal construction. It was designed to make the full range of Hedler light shaping accessories available to users of portable flash units from Quantum, Lumedyne, Norman, Metz and Speedlites (hot-shoe mounted battery flash units) from Nikon, Canon, Metz, Nissin, Olympus, Sunpak, Vivitar and many others.

The portable flash unit is secured to the adjustable mounting platform of the FlashOwl, which has a quick change bayonet-mount on its front to accept the large range of Hedler reflectors, softboxes, barndoors and honeycombes.

A universal lighting spigot makes the FlashOwl compatible with the majority of stands, booms, clamps and swivel-tilt brackets.
